Sonu Sood airlifts 177 girls stuck in Kerala; sends them home to Odisha

After arranging buses for the stranded migrant workers, Sonu Sood has now airlifted 177 girls stuck in Kerala due to the nationwide lockdown. A special aircraft was arranged to take the girls from Kochi to Bhubhaneshwar.

As reported by PTI, the actor started the process by taking several permissions from the government to have Kochi and Bhubaneswar airports opened. “A special aircraft has been called from Bangalore to airlift these 177 girls from Kochi who will be now taken to Bhubaneshwar so they can finally reunite with their families. The flight duration from the village to Bhubaneswar is going to be two hours and soon after finishing their journey, the girls will be heading back home,” PTI quoted a source.

This noble act has been lauded by Rajya Sabha MP Amar Patnaik. He took to his Twitter handle to thank Sonu Sood. He tweeted, “@SonuSood Ji,your helping the Odia girls to return safely from Kerala is commendable. Kudos to your noble efforts. It’s incredible to see how you are helping the needy reach their homes safely. More strength to you!”(sic).

Sonu had recently launched a toll-free helpline to help migrants in reaching home. He had arranged buses for the workers and helped them reach their homes in states like Karnataka, Bihar, Jharkhand and UP. The actor is getting lots of love and blessings from his fans on social media. He has been given the title of ‘real hero’ for such a selfless act.
